This is a home-owned A50 model Ascent trainer. The A50 has a commercial “induction brake” for resistance which means a lower starting resistance, 30 levels and a higher top end resistance. Most home machines use “magnetic braking” which works fine but has a restricted range and more moving parts to wear. This feels just like the health club models.
The Ascent Trainer is a “cross-trainer” with elevation changes to work different muscles with longer and shorter strides. It also as multi-grip hand positions. This is optioned with the 9” LCD console called the “XR”. This currently sells for $5100 new and this has under 50 hours of use.
